Macquarie Asset Management – Macquarie Korea Opportunities Fund, Seoul, Korea

An exciting internship role exists for a motivated, high performing student to join the Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) Real Assets division focusing on our Macquarie Korea Opportunities Fund series in Seoul. 

The Macquarie Korea Opportunities Fund series (MKOF) is a wholly owned private equity fund manager in Korea specializing core and core-plus infrastructure investment and currently manages 4 funds with approximately KRW ₩2.8 trillion in assets under management.

You will sit side-by-side with business leaders, learn on the job, and make a difference by working on critical projects. You will have the opportunity to engage in various facets of a private equity fund, including the review and execution of investment opportunities, financial analysis and modelling, and preparation of presentation materials. You will also be responsible for assisting with operational and portfolio management within existing fund assets.

We are looking for intern/s to join us from January/February 2023 for 6 months.

At Macquarie, we look for innovative, driven and talented students who share our drive for excellence.  You will be a current full-time student (either undergraduate or post-graduate) with a basic understanding of financial concepts. You will have outstanding analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to multitask and meet challenging deadlines. Fluency in English and Korean is essential.

Opportunities for internship positions are available in the Fixed Income team within our Commodities and Global Markets business group based in Seoul, Korea.

 

Working in our Seoul office, you will be supporting the team in these aspects:

• Performing research and providing answers for customer generated inquiries.
• Contributing to defined projects or tasks under direct supervision.
• Documenting processes or upgrading existing procedure manuals.
• Developing product or service knowledge and competence in tools and business processes used in the department.
• Support the Sales Team in their day-to-day job

 

As an intern, you can expect to participate and support the operational activities of the business unit. You will get to apply experience and complete working knowledge of the job and policies/practices to perform a combination of routine tasks and varied administrative/operational assignments.

 

About you

• We are looking for students from a wide range of degree backgrounds who are completing their degree in 2023 or fresh graduates
• You have strong interpersonal skills
• You have strong analytical and numerical skills that put you at ease with financial data.
• You are results-driven and perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines. You are a proven team player and can manage a wide range of responsibilities.
• You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards
• You articulate complex ideas simply and summarise them effectively.
• You have an excellent academic background and fluency in English. Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages is an advantage.
