Voice Recording Opportunity for Native U.S. English Speakers in Korea

 

Task: Voice Recording

Location: Seogyo-dong, Mapo, Seoul (Subway Line 6 Mangwon St./Line 2 Hapjeong St.)

Recording Time: 2 hours

Payment: 40,000 KRW per hour

Payment Method: Bank Transfer (within 15 days of task completion)

 

Project Overview

We are seeking US English speakers currently residing in South Korea to participate in a studio-based voice recording project. The goal is to capture a range of authentic regional accents to help improve speech recognition systems.

Participants will read a standard US script naturally, allowing their genuine regional accent to be reflected in their speech. This is not an imitation task—your natural voice is what we want to hear.

 

Task Details

• Record approximately 500 sentences on everyday topics (e.g., travel, food, shopping, street scenes). Each sentence averages 13 words.
• Recordings will be completed in a professional studio in Seoul.

 

Requirements

• Must currently reside in South Korea and be able to travel to a studio in Seoul.
• Native fluency in US English.
• Clear and natural pronunciation with subtle reflection of your regional accent.
• Participants of all voice types will be considered to ensure balanced representation.
• Must represent one of the following U.S. regions:

Texas (Southwest)

New York (New England)

Minnesota (Midwest)

Maine (Northeast)

California (West)

Tennessee (Southeast)

• Able to submit a 30-second voice sample for accent verification.
