How the program works and what you can expect
Jefferies’ Investment Banking Internship Program provides Interns with the unique opportunity to gain valuable experience across an array of investment banking products and industries and to develop lasting personal and professional relationships that will serve as the foundation for a successful career.
Jefferies’ lean deal team structure affords Interns the opportunity to play an important role, working closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals. In addition to performing fundamental analysis and research into companies and markets, Interns are encouraged to think creatively, offer their input, and add value to the team from day one. As with everyone at Jefferies, Interns are expected to pursue their projects with excellence, a collaborative spirit, and with the highest levels of integrity.
Interns will focus on real-life on the job learning, with colleagues serving as both instructors and mentors. Each Intern will also have the opportunity to review their professional development and receive detailed feedback on their performance, during the course of their internship and at the end of the term.
Students in their penultimate year of university with an anticipated graduation date of Spring-Summer 2025 may apply for our Off-cycle Analyst Program.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting company and industry research
- Providing support on financial analysis, and modeling and evaluation activities
- Assisting in preparation pitch books, business proposals, reports and memos
- Participating in the execution of live transactions
What we look for in a candidate
Successful Jefferies Interns will be able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. They will have an opportunity to work on projects for South Korea. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. You should have a strong academic background on track in obtaining a minimum of a 3.4 GPA or equivalent and be in your penultimate year (completing the second year of a three-year degree, or third year of a four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent program). Although a background in accounting or finance is helpful, we hire Interns who have studied a variety of disciplines. Fluency in Korean language skills is required.
