The sustaining product quality team supports current iPhones products by identifying, quantifying and driving solutions for current field issues; in collaboration with large cross-section of other engineering teams across multiple countries. We are actively seeking high energy interns who can work full-time for a minimum of 4 months.

Key Qualifications

• Understanding of problem solving tools, including design of experiments
• Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to optimally present to multi-functional teams and executive leadership
• Strong engineering fundamentals, with preferred understanding of basic manufacturing process of semi-conductor device, display or knowledge about camera optics, electro-mechanical system
• Data driven and results oriented approach to problem solving
• Inclination to be hands on, performing electronic device tear downs, collecting diagnostics information and data gathering using instrumentation
• A highly developed curiosity in how things work, why they fail and what it takes to fix them
• Data analysis, visualization and reporting experience
• Quality methodology, Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods and theory
• Onsite support required (Pohang)

Description

Product Quality Engineering is responsible for driving quality improvement actions for current and future Apple products. You will also be expected to succinctly communicate the overall status of quality issues to multi-functional teams and executive leadership. As part of the sustaining quality team, you will: - Analyze Apple product and drive quality issues to closure by working closely with multi-functional teams to identify root cause with an ability to influence how Apple designs, assembles and tests - Conduct data analysis to quantify field impact of user facing issues - Summarize product issues and failure analysis result, identify highlights and present them to Apple executives - Be involved in failure analysis of product and develop methodology of analysis or test to enhance Apple product quality’s push into Smart Quality - Perform hands on failure reproduction, triage and tear down of product in order to get to root cause - Work on smart quality and sophisticated technology projects focused on display and camera PREFERRED: - Understanding of Camera optics, Camera mechanical module, OLED, LCD, LED display, semiconductor process - Experience with electrical, mechanical, optical device (display or camera or electronic device) failure analysis and knowledge of general analysis lab tools (e.g. FIB/SEM, X-ray, CT, ProbeStation, FTIR/Raman, Spectrometer, TDR etc…)

Education & Experience

Enrolled in B.S. or M.S. or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, M.S. or PhD programs.
