Recruiting Research Assistant Intern (2023)
 

VIP Research & Management (VIP) is a regulated investment company based in South Korea with a total AUM of USD 3 billion. Our history roots back to 2003 when J.C. Choi and Peter Kim co-founded the company to pursue value investing, at the time a rare investment strategy in Korea. We pride ourselves for 20 years of outstanding track record and commitment to clients. Our AUM is comprised of funds from high net worth individuals, institutional investors, and sovereign wealth funds.
 

VIP Research & Management is looking for a research assistant intern to provide insights into high-quality foreign companies with long-term growth potential.
 

[What we look for]

• Native-level English ability (most research conducted in English)
• Interest in capital markets (equities in particular) with basic knowledge in the field.
• Knowledge and interest in frontier technologies such as AI, cloud services, software, consumer internet, etc., as well as a broad interest in business trends.
• Passion and tenacity to dig deep into what others do not see.
   

[Role as research assistant intern]

• The research assistant intern will be asked to provide in-depth research on several global companies with a focus on innovative, tech-driven firms. In addition to understanding the fundamental business model of the companies, the intern will use unconventional research channels (social media, field survey, online forums, etc.) to provide valuable insights.
   

[Internship details]

• Duration: after an initial evaluation period (1 month), the internship may be extended to 6 months
• Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Fri 08:30 to 17:30
• Location: Seocho-gu, Seoul

• 주식시장에 대한 기본적인 이해와 관심
• 적극적이고 열린 마인드
• AI, 클라우드, 인터넷, 소프트웨어, 등 글로벌 혁신형 성장기업에 대한 이해도 및 관심
• 시작 예정일: 7월 중

[업무]

• 해외에 상장된 성장 기술기업, 테크놀로지, 시장 트렌드 리서치 (미국, 유럽, 일본, 중국)
• 비전통적 리서치 리소스 외의 소셜미디어, 필드 리서치, 온라인 포럼 등을 활용한 리서치

 

[근무내용]

• 근무기간: 수습기간 후 최대 6개월까지 연장 가능 (1~6개월)
• 근무시간: 주5일 풀타임 (월~금, 08:30 – 17:30)
• 근무위치: 서울특별시 서초구
