The U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Korea is pleased to announce the Foreign National Student Intern Program (FNSIP), which is designed for non-U.S. citizen college students in Korea to do an internship at our Embassy. This program would benefit students by providing them with valuable educational experience in a U.S. Diplomatic Mission, and the challenge of working in a foreign affairs environment.
There are no benefits, compensation, or any future employment rights attached to student participation in the FNSIP. However, students would gain valuable experience in various areas of foreign policy and management, and possible college credit that your educational institution may decide to award.
All interested applicants must submit required documents to SeoulFSNIP@state.gov:
- FNSIP OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT: We ask you to distribute widely the FNSIP announcement in areas where your students may view it. This document provides the number, types, and duties specified for a particular intern position; including the section of the Embassy in which the intern will work.
- FNSIP APPLICATION/STATEMENT OF INTEREST: Likewise, please make these available to your students who may wish to apply for the program. These documents will be used as important sources for the selection for the FNSIP.
- FNSIP COLLEGE PERMISSION FORM: The student must submit this form, which requires the name, title, signature, and telephone number from the office responsible for outreach and internship programs. The student submits this form, after your educational institution has signed it, to show that that you have approved the student participating in the FNSIP.
- TRANSCRIPT: The student must be in good academic standing.
The application deadline is July 27, 2022.

주한미국대사관에서는 대한민국 국적의 대학생들을 위해 인턴 (Foreign National Student Intern Program)을 모집하고자 합니다. 재외 공관에서 가치있는 교육경험을 얻고 싶거나, 외교 기관의 업무 환경에 도전해 보고자 하는 대학생들을 위하여 마련된 프로그램입니다.
이 인턴십 프로그램은 보수는 제공되지 않으며, 향후 본 대사관 정식 직원 채용시에서도 특별 고려 사항이 되지는 않습니다만, 학생들로 하여금 미래를 위해 투자하는 귀중한 경험이 될 수 있으리라 봅니다.

FNSIP ANNOUNCEMENT (인턴십 모집요강): 인턴십 모집요강을 귀교의 학생들이 볼수 있도록 잘 배치해 주세요. 이 모집요강은 각각의 position 이 요구하는 인원수, 종류, 그리고 일의 특징에 대해 서술하고 있습니다.
FNSIP APPLICATION/STATEMENT OF INTEREST (인턴십 지원서/자기소개서): 마찬가지로, 인턴십 지원서와 자기소개를 학생들이 잘 볼수 있도록 배치해 주시고 참여를 유도해 주시면 감사하겠습니다. 이 지원서와 자기소개서는 학생들을 인턴으로 채용하는 중요한 요소가 될 것입니다.
FNSIP COLLEGE PERMISSION FORM (학교추천 허가서): 인턴십 프로그램에 참여하기 위해서는 담당교수 혹은 학과 사무실의 전화번호, 이름, 직책명, 학과명, 서명 등이 포함된 서류를 제출하여야 합니다. 인턴십 프로그램에 참여해도 좋다는 승인서를 학교로부터 받아야 합니다.
인턴십 지원서와 그 외의 필요한 서류들을 7월 27일까지 제출 가능합니다.
