[Position Overview]
Meritz is seeking to hire an Analyst to join the Capital Solution Group (“CSG”) in Seoul. The recently established business division primarily focuses on providing innovative capital solutions to corporates and financial sponsors based in Korea as well as overseas. Since its launch, the team has secured landmark transactions including multi-trillion KRW bespoke financing for one of the largest Korean corporate group and has built a strong pipeline with imminent opportunities.
The Analyst will have primary responsibilities supporting senior members in sourcing, structuring, negotiating, executing, and managing principal investment transactions. This role is a unique opportunity to become an essential part of the growing private credit investment business at Meritz.
[Primary Functions and Essential Responsibilities]
• Manage full securitization investment process, including origination, due diligence, structuring, underwriting, cash flow modeling, relative value analysis, communication with legal counsels on documentation, and negotiations with all transaction counterparties
• Prepare investment memos and presentations for senior investment professionals
• Present and defend investment recommendations to the Investment Committee
• Monitor and manage risk of investment portfolios
[Qualifications]
• Fresh-graduate or up to 1 year of experience in investment banking, private equity, private credit, or related field
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with numbers
• Advanced MS Excel and financial modeling skills
• Strong presentation and excellent verbal/written communication abilities in Korean and English
• Possess multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rigorous work environment; demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
• Strong initiative and ownership of responsibilities – must demonstrate a proactive, positive attitude toward given tasks
• Self-starter with a willingness to execute projects as part of a team
• Team-oriented and collaborative attitude is a must
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required
• Major in Finance, STEM, or other related field is highly preferred
