We are looking for an Associate Editor, who will be responsible for writing/editing/publishing news articles and curating content related to Korean entertainment, K-drama, K-pop and more. This role will serve as a part of the marketing team to produce the content that helps our fans discover new shows and talent or fall more deeply in love with something they’ve already seen. You will make the content that brings communities together over shared passions.

You’ll have a deep passion, appreciation, and understanding of Korean dramas & K-pop, with a depth and breadth of knowledge about the Asian entertainment world and its evolution from a domestic industry into an international phenomenon. The successful candidate will work closely with Viki Marketing team to create the best content and experience for our growing audience. You have a demonstrated ability to manage priorities and projects and the right mix of organizational and communication skills.

담당업무 Key Responsibilities Include:

• Curate topics, write/edit posts and manage social media accounts to     maintain engagement and drive referring traffic to Viki
• Focus on promoting drama related articles to provide relevant content to Viki users
• Help manage contractors for editorial team, providing feedback and support
• Assist in scheduling of writing shifts to ensure continuous coverage and article posting
• Collaborate with the Viki Marketing team to strategize, ideate and leverage Soompi content
• Analyze and track Soompi performance data on article performance, page views, user numbers and sessions and provide recommendations
• Research and stay current on trends and stories related to Korean entertainment and culture
• Review job applicants and onboard/train new writers
• Assist in off-site event and press conference coverage for K-drama and K-pop related content

자격요건 Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, English, Communications or Marketing
• 1+ years experience in editorial writing is preferred
• Analytically minded approach to operating a Publishing business
• Ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Self-motivated, proactive, and positive attitude
• Ability to collaborate and work with international teams and departments across time zones, particularly in Asia
• Passion for Asian dramas and entertainment preferred
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and time to meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to write fun and engaging content
• Organized, proactive, detail-oriented and fast learner
